Happy Birthday Sara Kate!!!!!

I can't believe my baby girl is already one!!!!! She has become her own little person... so sweet, so SASSY, so sensitive yet so tough!!! She is so girly yet she can hold her own with the boys. I am so proud of her and how she has grown. I look forward to every single day we share with her and can't wait to see what God has in store for our little Princess!!!

As for her birthday party, we had to cancel the big party because of the hurricane. So, we decided to have a little party on her real birthday at our house with just her grandparents, Buddy and Pops and Grandaddy and My Sam, and PawPaw. We had so much fun!!! We grilled hotdogs, Grandaddy made his famous wings and boy did we have some cake!!!!! Then we watched the Crimson Tide ROLLLLLLLLL over Clemson!!!! YEAH!!!! We opened presents. Jason loved Sara Kate's baby dolls as much as she did!!! They also love the rocking chair PawPaw gave her. What a great night!!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!!!

Fun anyway, despite Hurricane Fay

Well, today was supposed to be Sara Kate's 1st birthday party. Hurricane Fay has managed to scare everyone and mess that up. With weather that is unpredictable, we decided a pool party was better postponed until Sept. 6.... But, the rain never came at our house.... strange and frustrating enough... Jason still managed to have some fun with our neighbors: "Miss Bill" (short for Mr. Bill, I think), Deanna, Austin and Jordan... Sara Kate slept through all of this. The red and yellow car in the last picture we acquired at a rainy yard sale yesterday. Jason LOVES it! Totally worth $10!!! Hopefully we won't have a new hurricane to contend with for the next attempt at my baby girl's birthday party!!!

PawPaw visited us!

PawPaw has been out of town for a couple of weeks and when he got home, he wanted to come see our sweet babies!!! Sara Kate was so excited to see him that she said "Paw Paw" as soon as she saw him!!!! She LOVES her PawPaw!!! Jason spent time cuddling with him and playing with Yoda after we played outside in the water.
We are so happy he came and can't wait to see him again!!!!

Nothing is safe now!!!

Well, Sara Kate is now a pro walker. She can even carry her lovey or her baby with her! She has become so attatched to her lovey (any silk blankie) and absolutely loves her baby dolls. She will pat and kiss them and talk to them. I am so amazed at how inate her girliness is. She has had Jason as a roll model and his toys are mostly animals and dinosaurs. He doesn't cuddle and love on them, he makes them growl and roar.... If she sees a baby in a store or anywhere else she reaches for it and starts talking to it... it is so cute!!! She is also quite a climber and is so proud of herself when she reaches a new height! Jason is getting so big and he just loves to cuddle and play with his 'baby sister Sara' as he calls her now. He still loves his animals and his Buzz and Woody men(not dolls-of course)!!!

Fun at Grandaddy and My Sam's

The kids went to visit Grandaddy and My Sam for the weekend so we could get some stuff together for the upcoming kids' consignment sales in September.... What a mess we made of the den. The kids had a ball, as usual. Sara Kate fell in love with her cousin Gavin and Jason played pirates. They had so much fun!!!

Dog days of August

August is here and man is it hot. We try to spend our time as cool as possible. We went out to play in the water for the midmorning and the kids totally enjoyed themselves. Scout joined in the fun and Jason had so much fun spraying her. Sara Kate walked all over the driveway and climbed in and out of the baby pool. We finished with a pop-ice and went in for a nap! Whew, this Mommy was tired!

An eventful day!!!

So, not much has been going on around here except heat and summer fun, but this morning was different.....
There was a baby snake in the kitchen!@#$! So........ I packed up the kids and headed for Grandaddy and My Sam's house so Daddy could search the house for more and for portals of entry..... No more snakes, but a few portals are to be blocked! Then, when we got home, it was time to reward Jason for doing soooo well with his new 'Star Chart'. This was his first week and he did so well!!!
